Grilled avocados are one of the best kept secrets of many California locals. If you haven’t tried them, you’re simply missing out!
-several firm, yet ripe avocados
-pico de gallo or your favorite salsa
-sour cream or yogurt
Cut the avocados in half and remove the pit. (for an easy video on how to do that, check out my video at loveandtomatoes.com). Brush each avocado half with olive oil and lime juice. Place it green-side down on the grill for 5-7 minutes. Sprinkle it with sea salt and some additional lime juice. Fill the hole with pico de gallo and a dallop of sour cream. Serve with a side of tortilla chips. Go ahead, double dip – they’re that good!
